Help. i have a 17 year old son, who has developed severe depression, he overdosed 2 weeks ago and we are so lucky we got home before it was too late. his medical team have advised taking him out of mainstream school for this year as he heals, but this is his final year of high school. i am really trying but just want someone who will not judge and give me some advice on what to do. Thanks Melanie

Get him out ff the medical team have advised you to do that, He may not do well if he is depressed and that in turn will affect his average. Don't push him. I am a mom of an 18 year old and my son went through similar in sophomore year and I pushed. He would up dropping out in senior year and took the GED. Give your son time to heal so he can come back stronger.
