My eigtht year old daughter has started puberty (very obviously) She is not overweight (just pushing about 60 pounds) I talked to her about the changes ahead, and she was very mature and understanding about it. We went out and got a few camis from justice and she wears them every day. Recently, my daughter that is almost 13 (WOW!) came home bawling about a school incident. Apparently, they had been changing for P.E and a few girls pointed out that she didnt wear a bra yet. SHe said they all wore bras and she wanted to get one even if she didn't need it. Should I? if so, what kind?

She is super skinny, and I wonder if it is just because of that

I agree, get her some bras. My daughter is 13 and has been wearing bras for awhile. She started with the ones that resemble sports bras but are not nearly that supportive. Then she decided she wanted "real" bras. I was kind of like uh...for what. She needed something with light colored and/or tighter t-shirts but Dolly Parton she was not. ; ) Anyways, they make an almost A in "real" bras just in case those are what her friends are wearing. Now that she is filled out she likes sports bras because quote, "I don't want to look like a 7th grade hooker." lol She also prefers their comfort. She's a gymnast so she has friends in high school and they wear sports bras as well so fortunately her peer pressure is pretty much elimated in that area.

I didn't "need" to wear a bra until I was 16 yrs old (42 now). My friends were developed years before me. I would get her bras, it may be a long time before she needs one but it will make her feel better about herself.

Hi! I would buy her a training bra. It will make her feel better no matter what "size" she is. : )
