My step son is 12 almost 13 and will be flying home to us in about a week he was living with his mother in England and this will be his first time meeting me in person and on top of that meeting his baby brother who is 9months old.. I am really nervous about this as I know he rather of stayed with his mom but with her job she is having to travel a lot and couldn’t keep him! I am just not sure what to expect or how he will even react but I want to make a good impression on the kid and make him as comfortable and happy as possible within reason! What should I do? Advice? And having this happen so close to Christmas is just horrible.

Give him space. I have a new step son that is 14, doesn't live w/ us but I have figured out real quick boys that age want their alone time, their own space. If he doesn't know about the sibling he might be a little jealous at first but I bet he will adjust if he has been brought up right. Good luck!

He was born here so i don't think the culture would be a shock to him but i understand what you are saying.

If he has never lived or visited the US, the culture will be new so it would be a good idea to find a mentor or buddy close to his age group so he can develop a sense of belonging. I don't know what state you live in but there may be some famous sites nearby sites he has seen on TV that would excite him. The most important thing is to welcome him into a church. The home life will be awkward but if you can show him kindness and love with an understanding that will go along way to develop a good relationship with stated do's and don"t but respectfully treating him as welcome family.
