ok. I admit. I shy away from "arguing." I try to take "the easy way." But I need to talk to my daughter about boyfriends and sex and I KNOW it's going to start an arguement. How do I do it without starting WWIII?

There is no easy way to do it. It's like ripping that band aide off. Try asking her what she knows about sex but be prepared for her response....you may not want to know. I never really sat them down and had the talk per say but it is just a regular part of conversation. I use our conversations to teach her instead of the old fashioned set down. My boys are sexually active and I always ask if they have condoms. My daughter is disabled currently and never leaves the house so not much to worry about there but we have had several conversations about sex and she is choosing to wait for marriage because it came up when she was telling me about something that happened in school and I used it as an opportunity to explain why waiting makes the relationship stronger.
