My 16 year old, 14 at the time, all of a sudden became so cold hearted and uncaring. A year and a half ago I had surgery, she was told she could call around 11:00 that morning to check on me, well at 4:30 her stepdad text her to ask if she was going to check on me. She called and really seemed to blow me off. She came up to visit me at the hospital the next day as if she was doing me a favor stayed 45 minutes and then left. We obviously have typical teenage things that go on day in and day out but if its not a tweet on facebook or in a text message I get no response. Her head is in her phone ALL the time we make her put in on the counter at 9:00 at night and she is furious. Another incident that happened was just recently, I had to write her a letter for confirmation, an affirmation letter in which I took my time wrote her memories from when she was a little girl and baby and apoligized that some things in her life aren't what she expected but we are survivors, I mean I really dug deep to let her know how much she means to be and how much I love her. She text me she loved me after she read it but when she walked in the door she never walked over to me and hugged me or kissed me, SHE NEVER even mentioed the letter until I brought it up!!! Was I expecting too much to think I could touch her heart. She did come in at 8:45 so texting time was limited (sarcasm) but really?. I don;t know, I try to get close to her but if I'm not telling her how wonderful she is she really wants no part of conversation. She only communicates with EVERYONE else via her cell phone. I'd like your thoughts on this.
