I also want to point out, that the police can't help you see your son or make the father follow the court orders. It has to go back through the courts.

If the father is not following the court orders, you can file contempt of court charges against him. Unless you allow it, the father can't legally keep the child from you unless the court orders get changed by the judge to grant him full physical custody.

We have a court order. His dad or him do not abide by it. Its been 6 months since I saw him.

What do your custody orders say about visitation? If the orders say he is supposed to spend time with you, then the father should be abiding by the court orders and encouraging him to see you. The boy may be of an age that the judge would take his opinions into consideration (although I'm not sure if he has a valid reason), and the judge could change the orders based on your son's wishes.

If you don't have court orders, maybe you need them. Generally it is better for the kids to have both parents in their lives.
