I am a single mom, and have a thirteen year old daughter, living at home with me. My son lived with his Grama while a went to treatment, and have been clean for two and a half yrs. now. My son is now living at home but at what cost. He calls me names, comes and goes whenever he wants, and I'm at the end of my rope.

His name is Tristin, and I need to get help for him so bad, but due to cash shortages and broken promises, he is still getting away with whatever he wants, and knowing this must stop, I've been thinking about putting him in a recovery house, or a place far enough away that he can't come home. He's currently on Probation, but even that is a joke to him. They don't bother checking, when they use to every night when he lived here. Now it's like they've given up on him. I pray for the right answer, if there are any ideas or places, or stories that may help, PLEASE!!, I am desperate, and am I dire need of some therapy myself. This child that I love so very much, has turned into a big BRAT. All suggestions or comments welcome!

Marian, I know you are frustrated...take a deep breath...yes, your son is pushing the outer limits and beyond of control, but you can get him help...have you tried pressing charges of an unruly minor. This will make the State take control of your child and place him in a treatment center to get help. There are also routes like children services, that will step in as well for the safety of your family, a lot of people don't know that the agency helps with these kinds of problems too. My heart and prayers go out to you
