What would you do if you found narcotics?

What would you do if you found narcotics in your 16 year olds room? To compound the issue, what if this wasn't your biological kid? We have opened our hearts and our lives to a 16 year old foster child. We have the intent for her to be part of our family forever. But she continues to push us to the brink of asking her "Do you really want to be here?" I won't go into all of the details as I know she is a teen and will push boundaries. This morning, after she left for school I went up to her room and bathroom to see if she had picked up her stuff a little. On the bathroom counter was a baggie with two pills. I looked up what they were and am shocked, concerned, and do not know what to do!

I realize this is my first post here and I haven't even introduced my self and this similar question has probably already been asked!! If you have any advice or suggestions or thoughts, I would greatly appreciate it...

Thank you

Tallk to her about it be open, honest and calm. Teen years are rough and since she is a foster child she may be harbouring some insecurities and trust issues as well. Just reassure her that she is a part of your family and that you love her and want the best for her but also let her know there are rules to be followed and having drugs in the house or in her system are not to be toleratyed. Not gojng to be easy as my 16 year old smoked pot and it was world war 3 in my house for a while lol teens are just teens and are figuring out who they are and trying to gain independance. Plus the peer pressure is way higher to do drugs nowadays than it was in my day. Stay strong calm supportive and loving and eventually it will all work ourt
