I used an electric one and hated it so this time I'm going to get the avent manual one I've heard good things about it. There is an electric one by playtex that looks nifty and comfy but whew cha ching so I'm sticking with avent. I've heard great things about medela but I'd have to go to a different city to get one and I don't drive so nope.

I rented mine from the hospital i had my son in. The lactationist suggested it to me. That way i didnt have to put down a lot of money right then and there. I ended up not needing it very long as my milk dried out

The Medela was great I took it to work with me! I used it with my first and then my second; worth the price. The manual pump did not work for me.

Depends how often you are going to use it. If infrequently, I'd recommend an Avent Isis handheld. The petals on the pump are very comfortable and soft. If you need to pump daily, I'd recommend the electric Medela Pump in Style. I got mine at MommyGear -their prices were much cheaper than other places. They also have the Hygeia, but I've never tried it.

call your insurance carrier - some provide one for each baby. and the handheld, manual ones are very reasonable at Target, Walmart or CVS. the electric one didn't work for me, but that's unusual. so i got a manual one and loved it.
