For those of you who have 1 year olds, how many/how long naps do they take during the day? My DD sometimes skips naps altogether or only 1/2 hr and I'm not really sure if thats normal for her age.

My son was a horrible napper & gave up naps all together (except the very rare one) around 2. My daughter on the other hand is a pretty good sleeper. She will take a 2-3 hour (at least) nap after lunch. She's 18 months & has been doing this probably since at least late summer.

My son is 14 months and he takes 2 naps morning about 1-1 1/2 then afternoon one about the same maybe little longer. As of late he is skipping his morning nap and sleeping a little longer in the afternoons and staying up later in the evening now bedtime is moved from 6pm to about 7:30-8pm. Every child is different though, and maybe shorter naps work for your little one.

William (13 months) has been starting to skip naps too - most days he still takes 2 but usually one is really short, like 20 mins, and sometimes when he only takes one it can be for only an hour. Boy do I miss those days of 3-4 naps a day!

My 2 1/2 year old just transitioned to no naps. My 12 month old is trying to go down to only one nap. She's currently taking 2 naps, each 1 1/2 hours long... but the past week or so she's been fighting her morning nap, then sleeping longer than usual (closer to 2-2 1/2 hours) and absolutely refusing her second nap.

I remember that my older girls had a hard time napping between about 15-20 months when they were cutting molars. They always slept better in the car then, so I'd plan my errands during or just before nap time, then we'd sit in the car for a while and let them sleep.
