Husband doesn't get it

Hi all. I am an American living and married to a Ugandan. Here, pain isn't something talked about, like ever. I have two boys, the first is 13 months the second is 3 months. I suffer from Occipital Neuralgia which means I have a horrible migraine about 50% of the time, and terrible nerve pain on the left side of my head and face 100% if the time. Its exhausting, as all of you know. I try my best to be a great mom to two babies, and be a good housewife. But culturally my husband expects everything to be perfect, and has a very hard time understanding why pain would cause me to be unable to do everything. He goes back and forth from being super sympathetic and supportive, to completely the opposite. Do any of you have this problem with your husbands or close family? What have you done to make them understand, or how have you handled their lack of understanding? Please don't get me wrong, I love my husband very much, and he is a wonderful man. Its just a hard subject in our marriage sometimes.
