10month old grinding teeth.

My ten month old daughter has recently discovered her 3 teeth. She has also learned to grind them together. It gives me shivers down my spine to hear her do it. She does it all the time. Even inbetween bites while eating. It makes me dislike feeding because I just can't stand the sound. Anyone have any suggestions on how to make this stop?Is it dangerous to her teeth. I realize she will get new teeth eventually but is this gonna be harmful in the long run?

I see this question pop up a lot recently. I actually asked it myself a couple months ago and got so much helpful advice. First, it's completely normal. She's just playing with these new things in her mouth. Second, there's not much you can do about. I used to try to distract my son by calling his name or clapping or something, and then he would stop for at least a few seconds. Finally, she will stop on her own. My son did it for a month or two, and now I rarely hear him do it, if at all. Oh, and I had a dentist assistant tell me that it will not hurt their teeth.

talk to a pediatric dentist... but i dont know that there is much they'll be able to do since she is still so young... they'll probably just advise you to do your best to keep her from doing it.
