I have recently moved out of my mums house into my own home. When I lived with my mum my son didn't have his own room he slept in with me. Hes now 11 1/2 months old and we have only just managed to get our own home. However Lucas wouldn't settle in his cot on his own he would only bet go to sleep at night if he was in my bed. Now we have moved house I'm trying to get him in to a routine of sleeping in his own room and going to sleep by himself, it just isn't working! I have tried the p/u p/d routine but he just gets him self in such a state he starts chocking. I really don't know what to do can anyone help me? X

It took my daughter a while to sleep in her own bed too. She is almost 2 and she barely started a few months ago. What we did was we let her fall asleep where she wants to do and then we put her in her bed in her own room. She sleeps the whole night through so we didn't have to worry about her waking up. But every once in a while she would, so we would just comfort her in her bed and she would fall back to sleep. It might take a minute but its worth it. It also helps to put them down for naps in their room as well. My daughter likes to watch TV before she falls asleep so i put on a movie for her too.

hope this helps...good luck
