This is my 2nd baby and with Lewis i had alot of problems during my pregnancy and in labour, they said my pelvis was to small so i had an emergency section, it took the doctor 40 mins to put the epidural in and i found it so painful, i want an elective section this time as i dont want the same to happen with this baby as it did with Lewis but im terrified of the epidural, was i doing something wrong maybe? im only 13 weeks at the moment but the birth is all i think about. HELP.

I understand that fear. I had an unplanned c/s with my first, so it wasn't emergency but still awful for me, I can only imagine how frightening an emergency c/s will go. Talk to your doctor about a spinal instead of an epidural, I'm surprised they didn't do that for an emergency one as it goes in the same way but works SO much quicker.

ah hannah i kow the feeling - i think its normal to feel that way when you are pregnant with number 2! My dd1 was only 4 months old when i got pregnant again with dd2 and i cried my eyes out! lol!! Prob cos i had not a great experience like you with first birth and the thought of doing it all over again was a nightmare! Charley was 10lb 4oz so i knew i was going to have another big baby!! Talk to your midwife hun as i'm sure you can have a planned section this time and enjoy the experience! In the meantime hun try and enjoy pregnancy!!

Good luck

Emma :o) xx

they may not have had enough time to wait for the freezing to set in to put in the epidural due to the "emergency" time frame, I would say with an elective since time will not be an issue chances are it will be a much more pleasant experience!!
