2nd pregnancy & no movement yet...

I am just over 19 weeks pregnant with my second baby and I have not felt a single movement yet. At my last checkup everything was fine, but I don't go back in for another 2 weeks and I'm worried. My first pregnancy I started feeling kicks around 16 weeks and he was SUPER active. I'm worried something might be wrong since most people say you feel the movement sooner with a second pregnancy. Anyone else experienced something like this?

I am on my second one too and I felt her move much later and not as frequent as my first.. they told me it is common for the second and also if you like me are bigger (weight wise) it can be more difficult to feel as well.. but she is certainly now at 37 weeks making up for all the lack of movement in the second trimester that's for sure! If you have any doubts always feel free to call yr ob.. good luck :)

I confess, I did not feel movement sooner during my second pregnancy. It was almost like "Was that it, or my bowels?" because I think I got so used to being pregnant I didn't feel it until my baby was 20 weeks along or so. Afterall, they say you are bigger faster during your second one, so maybe your baby is just happily swimming in that extra room the last one made for it :)

I wouldn't worry too much. As things progress, if you don't feel it move so much in another month I would start to ask the doctor why and they can do a few Non Stress Tests bi-weekly for you just to make sure the baby is moving okay. But right now.. I wouldn't worry much :)

I'm 21 weeks along and I have felt nothing so far! I go for my next scan tomorrow. I hope everything is fine! From what I've read, it all depends on how the baby is positioned. Some while lie behind the placenta, which makes it very difficult to feel movement. As long as the doc says everything is fine, you really shouldn't worry. Good luck!

I am 26wks preg with my 2nd. I felt first flutters with both bubs from about 10-14wks but the placenta has been at the back with both of them. This means they kick out towards my belly button & I feel EVERYTHING. However, my sister-in-law said she barely felt both of her kids during her whole pregnancies cos her placenta was at the front & they were kicking towards her back. If you are worried go to your dr to listen to the heartbeat.

Anyway, just wait until she's kicking you inthe side and flipping over like a porpoise...considering that can be pretty unpleasant, enjoy the quiet while you can lol.

If the doctor says everything is fine, I wouldn't worry too much. Every pregnancy is different!

With my first pregnancy, I did not feel my son until the end of my second trimester...with this baby...I just felt my baby move for the first time this week, and I am 4 months pregnant...I just think that every pregnancy and baby are different. Discuss it with your Doctor if you are really worried.

I'll be 19 weeks tomorrow with my 2nd and yes I can say I'm in a similar situation.

I've felt flutters but nothing major n even now I can't feel the movements with my hand where as with my 1st I felt her moving around now and she was very active.

I'm not too worried though because even they r only slight, I have felt the kicks and midwife appointments show everything is fine.

Try not to worry too much but do mention it to your midwife at your next appointment and Im sure they will put your mindat rest xx oh and congrats!! xx

I have 6 children and am 3 1/2 months pregnant with number 7.With my 3rd pregnancy i felt my daughter kick at 14 weeks, but with my 4th i didnt feel him kick till i was 20 weeks. With my 5th i didnt feel her kick till 19 weeks either and it took till i was 21 weeks plus to feel regular movement with her.It is a worry sometimes, but just get in sooner they carnt refuse you if your concerned. It does vary as i have learnt from all my pregnancys.I now know that once the baby kicks if the movement slows or stops then i worry.Good luck and get in with the midwife asap.!!!

I've been told and read in the pregnancy books that every pregnancy is different and it can be as late as 20 weeks before feeling movement, even with a second pregnancy. The book I read last night said some babies are just more mellow than others. I didn't feel my first until after 20 weeks but have been feeling this second one since 16 weeks. Sounds like everything is fine with your baby, but since it's stressing you out, I would just call your doctor and ask their advice and/or move up your next appointment. It will help ease your mind and comfort you to be reassured that everything is ok.

I felt my first at around 20-22 weeks and my second at around 18 weeks. It is normal to start feeling the second one earlier, but it also doesn't necessarily mean that something is wrong if you don't feel the baby sooner.

It might just be the positioning of the baby...or maybe he/she is super laid back. ;) I'm sure everything's fine...but I DO know how you feel. I was so paranoid about everything with my pregnancy lol. I don't think I felt my son kick until close to 18 or 19 weeks. And like Kayna, some feel those first movements A LOT later.

I didn't feel this one (im due today) until I was like 24 weeks! Even then he didn't move all that often. =)

I had the same experience. My 1st was crazy active and it seemed like I felt him all.the.time! With my 2nd, I rarely felt any movement prior to 20 weeks and then it wasn't very often. I called the doctor several times concerned, but I think she was just calmer.

One other reason I think I felt movement a little later with my 2nd was b/c I was still carrying some extra weight (10lbs) around my middle. I'm expecting my 3rd now and I've felt a lot more movement (and I'm only 16 weeks) and I think it's b/c I weigh less now and don't have as much fat in front of my uterus... but just a guess.
