My son will be 3 months on august 26 and he wont hold his head up, he wont even try.He hates belly time, so whenever I put him on his belly, he will just lay there. He doesn't really push himself up with his arms or lift his head up like I've seen other babies his age do. This worries me. I don't want him to develop slowly or not be able to crawl/stand/walk on time because he won't do anything to strengthen his neck muscles and hold his head up on his belly. Is this normal for a 3 month old? Or should most babies do this by his age?

My girl will be three months on Sept 23 and she refuses to lift her head during tummy time. She will hold her head up on my shoulder but that's about the extent of it. A new thing I have started doing that I am getting a little result from is doing tummy time on me. I will lie down with my knees bent and legs open and lay her so she is postioned inbetween my legs with her head on my tummy. Then I will bend my pelvis upward so her head comes off my stomach. I do this for short periods of time and she usually holds her head off my belly. I also will hold her under her arms and lift too. My girls head circumference is 40cm she is in the 91%tile so she has a lot of head to hold up lol 😄 good luck to you but I wouldn't worry to much everything I have read says about 4 months and on is when they really get control of their head. And like Pranita said every baby is different! 😊

All babies are different, my last baby wouldn't sit up until 8 months! No worries unless your doctor is worried. Just bring this issue up on your babies next check up.
