38 weeks pregnant with sharp pains that make me stop and take a breath!

i have 7 days til my c-section and last night i got these very sharp pains in my pelvic area! it almost felt like the baby was gonna come out or break my water, it hurt soooo bad i had to get up and walk around until it stopped! is this normal?

Yep, that's a contraction! Although I had them for 3 weeks on and off before going into labor- the day before I was to be induced!

At 38 days chances are you're starting contractions. I woke up with a wooshy feeling the morning I went into labour and steadily it progressed until that point. Though braxton hicks is a possibility

I would definately go get checked. My friend had the same thing start then just end. She had lots of complications in her pregnancy though so when her Husband got home they went in just incase. She was 3 cm from fully dialated and hadn't felt a thing for hours (LUCKY!!!)!

I'm thinking you aren't going to make it to your C-section if it's a week away. I went into labour the day before my induction was scheduled. The thought of those types of procedures just seem to get things movin!

thats what happened to me! i was in labor! the father was like ur going and i wouldnt so i went all day having REAL contractions! finally i coulndt WALK! and he took me and when i walked it felt better *only when i could* they kept me over night and i was in labor for 22 hrs! and i ened up havin a c section she was a week early.. but it probably is them braxton hicks if its not continuous,. good luck!

pretty much! very normal pre-labor signs good luck and congradulations you might not make it to your c-section... how ever having kids is pretty diffrent for every one so maybe you will. call your doctor if it happens again and time your pains... you know the drill i am sure... as does every preggo does
