I am 38 weeks 2 days pregnant. Past two days my son has been doing weird movements. He has not dropped.. He is head down though. He's a fairly large baby so he has limited space. I have a high anterior placenta and his back curves around my right side and his butt and legs wrap around the top of my belly and around the left side. Past two days he has been moving in a weird rocking motion. My stomach feels and looks like its rocking side to side. Do babies rock in the womb? Just curious, he just started doing it. Could it be him rocking himself to sleep? Doctor said I can go into labour at any time since at 36 weeks I started dilating a little and started thinning out.

Yes its my first pregnancy :). And he just started doing it. I'm not worried about him dropping or not. Iv talked to my OB weekly and he thinks its because he can't fit into my pelvis :) I see him on tuesday and I'll let him know. I was just curious if babies actually rock later in pregnancy. He did it in the beginning, only reason I new was because he did it once when I seen him on ultrasound at 11 weeks

Is this your first pregnancy? If so, then this is completely normal. My first, also a boy, would do what felt like summersaults in the womb, and liked to turn right and left a lot. Your body knows what it's doing, I learned, as my son dropped late, too. I wouldn't worry too much about it, and if you do, just make sure to check in with your doctor regularly for any questions or concerns.
