7 month old nap time

I have a 7month old son who (until now) was wonderful about nap time! He usually took 3 naps a day, 10am 1pm and 530pm. Well now (as we speak) he FIGHTS FIGHTS FIGHTS his naps!! He is soooooo sleepy, but has been fighting and crying for an hr now. This can sometimes go on for 2 hrs before he gives in and sleeps! So, my question to you is: should i stand my ground and make him take the nap he soo desperatly needs, or throw in the towel and say whatever floats your little grouchy boat?!

I would cut out the middle nap. My daughter was on almost the same schedule and around the same time she started not sleeping through all of them. So we cut out that middle nap, it takes about a week for them to fully adjust he might be sleepy around 1:00, but give him a snack and he'll push on through and then crash for his late afternoon nap. :-)

Hey Amanda, my name is Liz. I have two boys, 2 and 5. I remember going through that with my first son. At about 7 months he is probably ready to start taking 2 naps a day. You might want to adjust him to around 1030 or 11 to 1 and then a quick second nap from 4 to 5pm. My first son was a bad napper and I had to struggle for like a month trying to switch from 3 to 2 naps a day and then again from 2 to 1 nap a day. But my second son was a great sleeper. And he was down to one nap a day by the time he was about 7-8 months. Instead of fighting with him, I let him choose his nap time(s) and how many he wanted but I helped guide it into times that would not effect his nighttime sleeping.

Hope this helps...Good luck with everything!

Read the book "The No Cry Sleep Solution" This has help a lot with my nephew that did the same thing. Don't throw in the towel they need their naps. Also try adjusting his nap times. He might be dropping one of the naps which is pretty normal. Good luck!
