My 8 month old never took to a bottle. We tried for 5 months. She can hold a cup but still doesn't suck on it to get anything to come out. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get her to take a cup?

u may need to get other types of cups...both my kids could suck from them around 4 months... my oldest never took a bottle and my youngest as had maybe 5 bottles of pumped milk at 9 months

My boys both didn´t have a bottle at all, when I stopped nursing them (at 6/7 months) they immediately switched to a normal cup. It took them a while to learn drinking from it, but at first I tried to give them little sips right from the cup onto their tongues and that did help them learn it. Good luck! And I did try with water first, doesn´t matter when we spilled it!

How about a regular cup? Not a sippie. My nine month old has just about gotten the hang of a regular cup because I've been giving her sips from my own. Just give her bits of water in it to start. She'll get it.

My son never took a bottle. I stopped nursing him at 11 months. He went straight to a cup. He took well to the ones with a straw. Although they are not spill proof, he started with that and then went to the regular sippy cup. So maybe try the ones with a straw. Might not work, but its worth a shot. Anyways good luck. She'll get it eventually.
