adoption question

I have a family member who can't have kids because she got her tubes tied after her 3rd son. She really regrets this and wants another baby. She can't afford to have her tubes untied, especially since she found out that the chances that it will work are not very high.

She's thinking about adopting but doesn't know how to go about it without having to pay an arm and a leg.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I didn't realise you could get your tubes untied (not that I have an understanding on how they tie tubes)

I also say the foster care system. But you dont run the risk of not getting the baby in the end. Surrogacy is a good option, but youd have to have someone carry. Thought just popped in my head. Not sure if its possible. Cant they harvest her own eggs, join them with sperm then have them implanted in her uterus. Just cause the egg wont drop does that make her uterus inhabitable? I dont have my tubes tied and dont have much info on that, so thats jsut my thought.

It's a very long process trying to adopt infants no matter who you go through. She can try adopting through foster care. That is the cheapest way to go about it but there is definatly a risk of a biological family member gaining custudy before the adoption is final. If she and her family think they can handle it might take a few times around till she can actually adopt a baby.

Her best bet is to convince a family member to become a surrigate mother. That's what I would recomend doing if she want's an infant. It's expensive but so is adopting an infant and the baby would be genetically hers and his.

A friend of mine was going through Aspira but before she was placed with a baby she became pregnant. She did her research and that was her favorite as far as price and overall integrity goes. She should join a group on here for parents that adopt to get some advise first hand.

Hello There!

I looked into adoption before I had my daughter. I don't know what state your family member us in, but let her know private adoption agencies are ones she wants yo stay away from (they are very expensive). Try contacting the city/county health and human services department for resources in her town. It will be expensive, but it doesn't have to be outrageous! Tell your family member good luck!
