That sounds about right and spitting up is perfectly normal. Some babies do and some babies don't as long as it's not like half his bottle or anything. If it's alot than you might have to switch to a lower iron formula. I breastfed but a couple of my friends had that problem and it was the iron in the formula upsetting the babies' stomach.

you can starve him but my suggestion is feed him smaller amount but more often it should cut back on the spit ups

my son eats around the same amount unless he's sleepin all day (very hard to wake him up once he's in a deep sleep!)

My daughter was a preemie and would often spit up a lot after eating(but it wasn't reflux). We were told to stop feeding and burp every 2 oz and it worked. Maybe try that.

I always wondered the same thing when my 3 were infants. I came to realize that if they are full, they will let you know by stopping. If he isn't hungry anymore he won't eat anymore. I am sure you are doing a great job and you have nothing to worry about!

If it's just a small amount, I wouldn't even worry about it. Most of my friend's babies spit up after every feeding and they were perfectly fine and healthy weight and everything like that. So don't even worry.

yes im burping him after every meal, and i try during the meal but he starts screaming as soon as i take the bottle away from him! and anyways, he doesnt really spit up right after i feed him, it will be like 30 mins to an hr before he does anything like that! but he doesnt always do it!!! just most of the time!

Thats fine. My son fed more than that. Talk to your doctor though. Are you still burping him after every feed? COuld be acid reflux. COnsult your doctor :) Do not add rice cereal to his bottle!! Bad advice.

consult with the pediatrician...make sure he is getting burped often enough and ask about acid refux or changing the formula you use.

No, that actually sounds like a pretty normal amount to me. My son was 5 weeks preemie and eating that much at that age. If he's spitting up too much then chances are the formula/BM is to "thin." Id consult your doctor, even though I didnt, and possibly try adding some cereal to the formula/BM. Or if you have to, switch formula.
