Go Veg! I guess not fully vegetarian starting tomorrow... that would be a little drastic...

But cutting out a lot of your meat, cheese, and dressings help a lot. Ranch dressing, cheese, butter and corn syrup seem like small amounts of fats & carbs but they do add up. Switching to whole grain breads and substituting an orange instead of chocolate and water / tea / low sugar juices & V8 make changes a lot easier!

If the ingredient list has really big words and a lot of them, you know that it has been processed and your body simply doesn't know what to do with 'monodiethylatate something' So it just sits in your colon and can cause cancer.

Yogurt and foods fortified with fiber can get your bowels moving and you'll feel lighter. If you had 20 bucks or so you could try a colon cleanse program from SlimQuick. It gave me the poo's but I think it flushed out foods I ate in High School!!!

Toss some strawberries, blueberries, bananas, and a teaspoon of vanilla extract on some ice into a blender and make a fruit smoothie! I can't get enough of those!!

I walk for an hour each day during Dr. Phil. I just walk around in a figure 8 around my living room and looking at the TV when I pass it. Soon the hour is over and I feel better for it. Pilates changed everything. There's youtube vids of pilates workouts that you can tailor to your needs and experience level. Get a slim-down buddy! Find a friend that wants to lose a few pounds with you and you can keep each other motivated and on track!

Since I sent a message I thought I'd post just for anyone else. I use a free website called thedailyplate.com. It is easy to use and I have managed to keep up with it even with my 2 year old. You can enter your weight and it will give you the max calories you are allowed to eat based on your weight and how much you want to lose per week. I have lost 25 lbs in the past 6 weeks. I haven't had to change how I eat, just how much and make sure I stay with in my calorie range. I also don't know where you live, but if you have comcast cable. They have free on demand exercise videos that are difficult, fun, and you can feel it working. Good Luck!

I swear by the Wii Fit Plus and healthy eating! I have lost 70 lbs in about 7 months, and about 50 of that within the first 4 months. It makes you responsible, if you do like me and force yourself to weigh in each day. An hour workout each day, healthy meals and 100 calorie snacks...that's all I've done. We paid $100 for the board and the disc, it has been worth every penny and then some!

well from my first son I gained 100lbs (yeah omg is right he was 10lbs and I had pre-eclampsia) anywhos. I started eating 1500 calories a day. Tons of protein and walking, and doing workouts 3 times a week. You can go on youtube or just google free work outs and I found a bunch. I lost all my weight within 9 month!! I also loved drinking diet green tea. Also limit your sugars and of course sodas. I know people who lost 10lbs in one month with JUST quitting drinking soda. Don't do a low carb diets, carb is energy and you need energy to fuction. But high protein, good fats limit oils and sugars and start walking and you should seriously see a differance

EDITED to add DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS, your fat comes out through your urine and if you aren't hydrating the fats can't come out. Eating 6 SMALL meals a day always worked for me. I would eat breakfast which was cereal, skim milk and my coffee. Then if I got hungry a fruit for a snack. A sandwhich or whatever for lunch. Then I usually ate a fiber one bar for a snack then dinner. I lost tons of weight. SO I hope this helps

I have lost the jiggly arms, gotten back a waist, and fit into my clothes better all while being pregnant with my second child! All you have to do is take care of yourself, while moving and eating real food. I dont give my son processed foods, why would I make a separate meal for myself with all that nasty stuff in it? My son doesn't get to drink soda, so why am I? My son eats at least 8 times a day, why am I only eating once? My son doesn't sit in front of the tv all day, so why am I?etc. etc. These are the changes that you need to make. Once I took a look at the fact that I was causing more stress on myself trying to keep my son healthy at my expense, I changed it. We both eat the same food at every meal. We both drink water. We both go outside to play (even if he just wants to wander up and down the sidewalk). I go to bed around the same time he does. The tv doesnt come on at all anymore.

All of these little changes add up because you are expending more good energy into cooking, cleaning, playing, and LAUGHING and you take in good energy as well (water, fruits and veggies). Not to mention, you go to bed when the child does, which stops the night time eating and ensures you have the sleep you need to carry on the next day.

It sounds daunting to make those changes, but I'll tell you from experience, I still fit into my pre pregnancy clothes at 6 months pregnant, yet I have gained the 10 pounds for my pregnancy so far. The difference is that it is healthy weight for my baby, not fat for my butt and underarms. :) (i would like to make a note that I gained 50 pounds with my first and culdnt fit into my clothes until 9 months after he was born)

This may sound odd but go onto google and look up belly dancing. There are online tutorials - it's easy, it's fun and it's free cause you're doing it by yourself at home. My cousin and I both do it and we've both lost a bit of weight :)

I'm a stay at home mom on a tight budget, I can't afford a gym membership. Luckily I have 2 heavy boys. I take the kids outside and we have races. I carry both at the same time when I walk. I lift full grocery bags above my head 3 times before putting the food way. I take the kids on a 20 minute walk after dinner. Superman rides: I lay on the floor on my back and have one of my boys lay belly down on my legs and hold my hand then lift up.

Portion your food. Don't eat Carbs in the evening, If you don't burn them, they turn into sugar, which turns into fat. Watch sugar, anything with like 17g of sugar and over, don't eat it. Drink 2 1/2 - 3 L of water a day, this eliminates salt. Eat 1/2 Cup of Healthy carbs 3x per day (Oats, Brown Rice, Whole Wheat bread & Pasta, pita's are good, Potatoes) Substitute your carbs for Protein, I did this for a 3 months and lost like 15lbs (I'm naturally slim so I didn't have much to loose after baby tho). Oh an also try to eat 5-6 times a day, it keeps your metabolism reved, so you burn fat easier.

Though gym memberships seem great, they tend to be a waste of money. Unless your really trying to pump up your muscles. Drink plenty of water. Try yoga, walking, jogging, biking... The season is changing, so weather wise you might rather stay home. This can make it more difficult to motivate yourself. Don't make excuses. Create a list of a few simple exercises: leg lifts, tummy tucks, abdominal lifts...(target more of the midsection). Start out small with maybe 5 to 10 reps of each while watching tv or something. As they get easier to do, do more of them. As a trainer, i recommend 30 to 60 minutes 3 to 5 times a week. It may take a few months, but you will see results. You will feel them much sooner.

Run outside, that way you dont need a gym. The only thing you need is a good pair of running shoes. Running burns alot of calories and scalps your body really nicely.

Hi, sorry have not read all comments so my be repeating things, but I suggest (along with eating healthy). Turn your antenatal group in to a walking group. You can still have the coffee group thing once a week/fortnight, but convince all or even just one or two to go walking with you every second day. The longer you do it for you then may change the times and patterns to suit children and the more heavy the pushchair as the child grows. Drag a friend along. Hope this helps.

A few recommendations; which can actually save you money if you can do it.
1.) Breastfeed. 2.) No meals after 6 and no snacking after 8pm. 3.) Cut out your surgary and carbonated drinks. And you don't have to do a lot of working out right off either. Any extra activities help. I take my lil man for a short walk or two a day because he loves the out doors and in less than three months I have already dropped all those big 65 lbs. Now I just have to deal toning which will take a lil extra work but if you can do the first three things and squeeze in a little extra activity a day I'm sure you'll see a differance in no time and so will your budget =)

Hello, I'm a nutrition coach and thought I share what I know and what I have been doing to help lose my post pregnancy weight.

If it helps, losing weight is honestly 80% nutrition and 20% physical activity. If you get the nutrition concept right and add in between 20-30min of some type of activity, I guarantee you that you will soon start to see results. Like most people stated in the post you want to stay away from the carbs. However, it is the simple carbs (bad carbs-whites/starches, white bread, regular pasta) that you want to stay away from and increase your complex carbs (good carbs- fruits, veggies, wheats-wheat pasta and wheat bread is good, and brown rice for example). Also, increase the amount of protein you intake. Us women should get 75g of protein a day. The protein aids in giving our muscle the toning and strength we need and want. When eating meals, be sure each meal consist of 1/3 lean protein (skinless chicken for example) and 2/3 combination of complex carbs.

Lastly, throw in that little bit of cardio daily and watch the inches shed and the weight slim down. I was able to lose 21lbs and 17.5 inches in my first 3 months of doing this :D!

I hope this was of some help and I wish you the best of luck!

Take Care

i lost all my weight on my own, hiking uphill really burns calories & tones your butt. Also jogging in the dry sand. & you should buy a yoga ball, they are only like $10 & you can really flatten your stomach doin crunches on it because you can lean back farther than doin them on the floor. Also of course watching your diet. I make alot of baked chicken with some seasoning & brown rice with a small salad With a whole diced tomato in it & fat free italian dressing. its all good carbs & protein so it helps to lose weight not hold onto it. protein makes you feel full longer. & brown rice is a good carb. Oh & i love v8 vegetable juice. its like soup so it fills you too. but it does have alot of sodium which can make you retain water. Anyway hope that helped.

Start exercising: walk, jog, take stairs instead of the elevator, or make a point of actively dancing to several songs in a row to make a workout. As for a diet, eat mindfully - choose what you should or want to eat carefully and then take the time to eat it (no tv, no internet, just eating, savoring each bite, and being very aware of every sensation). That means you can eat a chocolate if it's your very favorite chocolate, and you are in the right mindset to really enjoy it (binge eating doesn't really satisfy so can't really stuff yourself silly with your fave treat). I have found a few places where they sell some lovely treats that satisfy yet keep the calorie count low, for example, fresh mini muffins - they are delicious (they do not say low calorie or low fat anywhere) and if you only buy one it's just enough to satisfy a sweet tooth without pilling on calories.

Walking is always a great way to start...drinking lots of water....cutting out things with lots of sugar.... I used to drink 4-5 XL triple triples(coffee) a day! I started drinking my coffee with just milk and watching the nutritional label of food i would eat (no or little sat/trans fats and I lost 30lbs in 3 months....I believe its all in what you eat.

So here's my issue, I'm over weight yes, not by much, but I still am. I can change my diet, yes, but I don't have a clue where to start! I'm not lazy, I'm in school right now and I have very limited time between studying, taking care of my son and working to even think about exercise. Not to mention it's getting into fall and it's getting cold outside and I don't have a excess of money to buy all the fancy exercise equipment. And even if I did, I doubt it would get used... because to be honest I have no motivation... I guess that's what happens when you get married eh? So my questions is where do I start.... How do I get motivated to go for a walk when it's chilly outside...

Go outside and walk around the block. Repeat 3-4x per week. Buy food at the grocery store and eat at home, save left-overs for lunches at work. Use full water bottles for weight lifting exercises. Oh, and sex... lots and lots of sex!!

Walk, run, dance, eat right. I bought a Jillian Michaels video game for the Wii, and I love it. I also downloaded some weight loss apps on my smart phone...lots of free ones out there. You can get active without going to the gym. My goal was to move every day, and not eat a lot of junk. I switched to lots of lean meats like chicken and fish, whole grain everything, and lots of fruit and veg.

I gained 70 pounds during my pregnancy with my son.... I've lost it ALL without EVER stepping foot into a gym. I dance(I'm not a professional or anything, I just turn on the radio and jam out haha) for an hour a day, do some crunches and run a few times a week. As long as you're not taking in too many calories, working out just a little bit every day will melt the pounds away.

Well, eating right is the a great way to start. Walks or runs in your neighbor hood are great :) If you just had a baby dont worry you will be running after them soon enough :) Also, I have the Wii Fit Plus and LOVE IT!!!! It has been awesome to get more exercise done while my daughter is napping. I try to go up and down our stairs in our house as much as possible, and I do calf lifts on the stairs as well. Be creative with things around the house :)

Ok, the best way I have found to loose and keep the weight off is running. It costs nothing and yes eating right does make a difference however, I am not good at dieting at all! I do not have $$ for the gym. I hate the way diet food tastes. I hate that fad diets do not give results that last.

I have two kids two years apart. When my son was 1 I was about 145lbs or so and sooooo frustrated that nothing was working and I had no $$ to spend on my efforts. I started running at the track at a local school in the begining of the summer. It was hard to make myself go do it but I went from a size 8/9 sometimes a 10 to a 4 by the end of the summer. I could not run in the winter (no $$ for gym or treadmill) so I did gain a few back due to me not changing my eating habits but picked back up my running in the spring again and went down to a 0-2! I do not run but only like once a week now to maintain my weight as I still have not changed my eating :( but it is what it is. The running surprisingly toned everything! I will never spend $$ on anything fitness except new running shoes again :)

Exercising is cheap, and doesn't have to be done in a gym. I do push ups, crunches, and lift small weights while playing with my son, and I jump rope for cardio.

Did you know for every gram of carb(which includes sugar) you eat you gain/retain 3grams of water with it seriously the day before i gave birth i was 80kg & now i'm 59kg. seriously cut out sugar & you're good to go, good luck! :)

Instead of just eating 3 meals a day, snack more throughout the day and eat 5 small meals during the day!!! But snack on healthy food, not the junk food!!!! Walk with your children or pets!!!!!

eat healthy. Thats the biggest change i could've made. Im back to pre baby weight and my son is only 3 months old. I also gained about 50lbs with him while i was pregnant. And however you want your baby to eat than you should be eating the exact same thing. Including the snacks in between. Small meals and a snack in betwen is a good way to help you lose weight. And just get up and do something. Go out and play with your kids. Do lunges everywhere you go in the house. Go for walks with the kids. Try and go up hill if you can too, and push a stoller. hope you get to where you want to be! make sure its a healthy weight and your aren't trying to be something you shouldn't be.
