Any good news about the Mirena???

Yesterday I got my IUD. Before I got it I was really excited. I did some research online; you know the basic stuff....Like does it hurt to get put in and the side effects. And decided that even if it hurt just a little to have it put in the long term effect would be worth it and the side effects they say are rare. So I thought what the hey. Anyway I'm still doing a little more research about it and my enthusiasm is starting to go away. I'm reading so many complaints from women who are experiencing all the rare side effects along with other things. Just wondering is there any women who have the Mirena and have good things to say about it? Although the negative feedback is making my worry. Although my insertion was painless and had minimal cramping yesterday. I found my strings so; so far so good. I'm just hoping it stays that way. But so far all the complaints and negative comments about it are having me doubt what I used to think was a good decision.

Well worrying over what other women's side affects will make you have them, just like a chemical pregnancy, you think about it and worry enough you mind tells your body this is happening. I have had no problems with mine. I've had mine for nearly a year and the only thing that's changed for me is I have cramps in my hips, that could be because of child birth(ended up with a separated pelvis) and lighter periods. Your first period after having it put in will be normal and from there they will start to get lighter and lighter, within three months I went from having to use super plus tampons to light ones. Hope all goes well for you, remember to check your strings and if you do have odd pains contact your doctor, or at the very least call the office.

I had it for a year and loved it. until it migratred out of my uterus and i had to have it surgically removed. Not trying to scare you but just letting you know. Be sure to check often for the strings. if you have any discomfort tell your doctor immediately. I had no real big issues with it otherwize.

I had the Mirena for about two years. This past April, I got it removed due to some irritating side effects; mostly weird, bypolarish, mood swings. Drove me insane because I felt that I was angry all the time all of a sudden. Other than that, it was good. The Mirena is going to be different for everyone though, so don't judge one womans experience as what you will have. For myself, it was a little more than annoying having it put it, and then taken out. For me it hurt. But yeah, having the Mirena was great. Oh but I did bleed weird the first six to nine months. Lol. But I didn't have to worry about getting pregnant or the hubz wearing condoms and such. I had little to no cramping during cycles. My cycles, once evened out, were slight. I don't know if you'll find rave reviews for it, per say, but who knows. It's good if your body can handle it, if not, then it's not going to be pleasant. Trial and error I suppose. It had it's good sides, and it's bad. I could put up with small annoyances, but the mood swing thing was not an option. I was so depressed because I always felt angry. I feel much better now. Lol.
