I'm 24 and a single mother to a 3 year old who is Autistic/ADHD. Are there any other young moms who have child who have been diagnosed with this? Sometimes I feel like I'm the one who is going to have a breakdown instead of him! Any tips for how to handle the little man?

My son is currently going through the process of getting diagnosed but I've suspected for some time now that he has it. It's definitely stressful because sometimes I don't know what to do with him. I just try and take it day by day and be consistent with discipline and have routines for him. I also do positive rewards, rather than always just punishing him for bad behaviour and have him on a gluten-free duet which helps with the attention aspect

I have a 5.5 year old who is Autistic/ADHD. I've tried placing him in a school but I have to remain there with him full time coz he keeps running around and doesn't sit still. I get very stressed and sometimes get to a certain point where I feel like crying and ask the almighty of why he gave my sweet and beautiful child such an ability. But then I thank him for giving me my angel son

Hey, I have a 5.5 yr old who has Autism and ADHD and I feel you through and through. I can get stressful. Theres days where I want to lock myself in the room and cry and ask why me? Why did you grant me this special gift if i can't handle it but then the simplest thing happens, she makes me a picture, she just laughs at my random jokes, she gives me a hug and a kiss and saids sorry and it tells me I know why because I can do this. She loves me!

You're more then welcome to email me haydecha@hotmail.com and we can chat. I've had tons of help that I would love to pass on! :) And just realize YOU are NEVER alone! :D
