I have 3 children, and they are 5 and almost 4. They are both starting to back talk pretty bad. Is this a phase, and how do I handle it?

I know how you feel. I have a 8 year old and a 7 year old. My 8 year old thinks he's the parent instead of me. He thinks he can talk to me any way he wants to and it doesn't seem to bother him. I wish I could help but I have the same problem. If you find the solution please let me know.

I can sympathize with what you are going through, I have a 10 year old, a 5 year old, a 3 year old and a 6 mth old. My problem lies with the 10 year old (it pretty much started about 4 or 5) she is pretty much out of control as far as the back talking is concerned, and the problem is that the younger kids are picking up on it. I wish I could offer some advice but I am going through the same thing.  Everyone keeps telling me it is a phase...but my lord it has lasted 5 years with no end in sight!
