Anyone else have this problem with PP bleeding???

Ok, I have 2 will be 7 soon and the other was born 4-16-09. Both were delivered by c-section. However...this time was totally different. With my first one, I bled for about 3 weeks and then it was another 3-4 weeks before I got my first period (and it was a normal flow period). This time, I bled for 5 weeks, still having discharge and then start my period at 6 weeks postpardem. This is the heaviest bleeding I have ever had....It wasn't even this bad the first few days of having the c-section. I'm not soaking through the pad every hour, but it only takes about an 1 1/2 to 2 hours before I have to change it....I have even been using the extra ones I brought home from the hospital at night because regular overnight ones aren't working...I still have soaked through those and I am going on day 4 of this HORRIBLE, painful period. My doctor said that as long as I'm not soaking an overnight pad every hour than I shouldbe ok, but I have never experienced anything like this before. I don't think it's ok that my period is HEAVIER than my first few days post c-section.

Any suggestions on how to slow the bleeding, ease the pain, or just feel more comfortable all together???? I have 2 daughters that both need my attention and I can't just go lay down until it goes away....any help would be GREATLY appriciated. Thanks.

Do your body a favor and go to another doctor if you can. Tell them you are in pain that is compromising your ability to look after your new born and you are concerned about the amount of bleeding. Even if its only that extra 1/2 hour you've got on the blood loss, its still only 30 minutes. Tell them that it is not normal for you and you need to be better cared for after your c-section.

Hell I insisted on staying in the hospital an extra 2 days just to make sure I could poop after my episiotomy and assisted forcep delivery, I didn't want to rupture anything. So go back to your doctor and tear a stripe off him or go to a different doctor and get what you need. Meds, massage might help to help the muscles tone back up and call in the big guns in the way of friends so you can actually relax.
