Anyone experience hairloss after twin pregnancy or during?

I had my twins 3 months ago. During part of my pregnancy I experienced quite a bit of hairloss. My Dr thought it was my thyroid due to being pregnant with twins and adjusted my med. It stopped shortly after so I didnt think much of it anymore. About a week ago it started agian! Now Im convinced that its from hormones. Ive never got any bald spots or anything but it falls out pretty bad. I keep my hair tied back a lot because otherwise it gets all over me. Im really frustrated and seeking some comforting words if anyone else has experienced this or knows how long it will last?

This is very common. With 2 our of my 3 pregnancies I lost tons of hair about 2-3 months after they were born. Your hormones are changing and your nutrition may not be as good trying to meet the needs of the newborns. Both times I lost it on the left was like I had a receeding hair line. I was able to cover it up if I would wear my hair down. It does grow back though. Also a hair stylist can do amazing things to hide the hair loss or work with the regrowth.

If you are not still taking your prenatal vits. start back up....that can help with the hair loss as sometimes hair loss can be due to poor nutrition. Which when you are trying to tend to a newborn or two eating for yourself sometimes does not exsist.

It is VERY common to have hairloss after any pregnancy. Your body holds on to every thing to keep you healthy. The hormones your body creates while you are pregnant (the one that causes you to have nice hair and nails), as it fades out of your body will also cause hair loss. After I had my second, I had clumps of hair coming out every time I showered. It didn't matter how often I brushed my hair or washed it. There were always clumps. It started about 2-3 months post-partum and continued until about 5-6 months. I'm not sure if the time frame is different with multiples or not, though.
