anyone with PCOS??

I know this isn't a child related question but could still use some advice...

I was diagnosed with PCOS about 6 months ago and was told by the doc some of what to expect and read a lot of what to expect. But I would like to know from people that actually have it what seems to be the more common symptoms??

Edited: Can you also tell me what you did to cope with your symptoms??

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me

I have PCOS as well. For me, the main symptom is insulin resistence and irregular periods. I think what has helped me to control my symptoms is diet and exercise. If you can help your body to process glucose/insulin better then the other symptoms tend to improve. Good luck!

Kristy, would you know the link?? I searched for it and didn't find it. And thanks for some input ladies, the think I find to be odd is that American doctors told me one thing and the doctors where I'm at now tell me something else (about what to expect) so I feel like I'm just waiting for a bad nightmare to start.

I was diagnosed about two years ago. The Dr. put me on FemCon, a type of birth control to help regulate my periods and make me have them every month. I was told when I did want to get pregnant again she would change me from birth control to an insulin based medicine. That PCOS works similarly to diabetes. I am about 50 lbs overweight not a diabetic, but was told that my weight did have a role in the disease. I'm losing weight with the birth control, it was nice at first a chewable mint, but now it is soooo freaking gross. I just swallow it now. Symptoms: an increase in testosterone, leading to dark facial hair growth, I wax my whole face once a month. Tried laser and it doesnt work. I sometimes get painful cuts for a lack of a better word in my lower region which I use a triple antibiotic and baby wipes to help keep it clean and sterile. Weight gain of course. Good luck.
