I'm just getting over this cold which lasted for almost 2 weeks and it was awful. Think it will be as bad for my little guy? He gets half breast milk and half formula right now so I'm hoping he's getting enough of my antibodies to help him fight this off. I've elevated his mattress at night...is there anything else besides using saline spray and the aspirator to help him?

The things that really helped our son was steam showers. I would go into the bathroom shut the door and turn the shower on as hot as it would go and sit with him for about 10 minutes on the toilet. This would help to loosen everything up. We also invested in a humidifier which seemed to also help. Being that you are breast feeding that should help a bit too! Good luck and I hope that you're sweet pea gets well soon :)

If you want use some vix without a steamer try to remember that it will burn so put a litlle bit with vaseline then rub it on his feet, make sure the room you bath him in is at an even temperature. I hope he sleeps a lot of it off for you!

My doctor let me use half of the recommended dosage of Tylenol for INFANTS when my baby was that young and got a cold. He hasn't gotten sick since he was 6mos old and decided to be a stay at home mom. So I know he was 4-6mos old when they told me and another friend to do the same thing. Good luck. A humidifier worked wonders for us as well. Put some of the KAZ Inhalant (Steam Activated) Oil in the water and it really helped him to breathe through his nose thus sleeping better. Also, we never did the whole elevating of the mattress. Instead I used the side-to-side swing and tilted it up. This worked great! He was buckled in, sitting up w/ him still being tilted backward enough for him to be very comfortable and go right to sleep.

U CAN TRY PUTTING THE SHOWER ON JUST HOT WATER AND MAKE SURE THE DOOR AND THE WINDOWS ARE CLOSED AS WELL, STAND IN THE BATHROOM WITH YOUR SON AND THE STEAM SHOULD HELP HIM WITH HI BREATHING AND EASE THE COLD FOR HIM

As with any sickness colds have t run its course, after talking to your pediatrician make the baby comfortable. He will be miserable though, so prepare for some crying.......
