Hey! Im currently 36 weeks (due sept 2nd) and I am getting cramps in my legs really bad! I wake up and I am screaming and crying in pain. There isn't much you can do but what helps me is taking a hot shower or bath before bed and once you get out, Rub some deep heat or dencorub on your thighs, legs, knees.... wherever is painful and also take some panadol. One thing that is also good is taking codene paracetemol like panadene forte. Codene makes you sleepy and nothing disturbs your sleep when you take them. Basically applying heat to the area helps. You can't take anti-nflammatory tablets as they can harm your baby but anti-inflammatory jel's are okay!

Hope that helps!

Yep its very normal. When i went to my antenatal classes, alot of people were getting them around 32-34 weeks. I only just starting getting them and im due in just over a week.

Kalie, i also get really bad pins and needles and feel like the body part is going to fall off lol. all part of the joys of pregnancy huh lol.

Hi! Yes I am having them too. Arent they horrible. My doctor said to take Calcium. It seems to be working. My hips are separating and hurting too, also my pelvic bone. A wlk in th evening really helps that. Do you get pins and needles when you are trying to go to bed ... those aren`t fun.

I`m 34 weeks!

it sure is. as long as you think about it before you stretch out, you can prevent some of them. well that is what i did.

YES!! With my son I would wake up at night screaming because it felt like a knife was in my lag it was so bad. I heard somewhere something about to much calcium or something. I was drinking like 2 liters a day so maybe.

With my daughter my hips hurt so bad i couldn't even walk in the mornings. It was so hard to sleep at night. It started at about 7 months and stopped about a week before I had her. Your hips spread so the baby can come down so I think that is what the pain was from. My doctor never said much just told me it was normal. I have had no pains yet this pregnancy and hope it stays that way. : D

I had horrible charley horses when i was pregnant. which i think is pretty much the same thing as leg cramps. eating banana's as one thing that helped me alot. but i would talk to your doctor if you are concerned. hope this helps!
