When my daughter was 3-4 months old formula wasn't enough to keep her belly full so I spoon fed her rice. I'd say at about the end of 4months she started to eat 3 meals a day. By the time she was 9 months she was drinking from sippy cups and drinking whole milk. It really does depend on your child though.

I think offer milk first for the first year or else it's hard to get enough liquid into them. My son was eating 3 meals a day at 7-8 months but now at 9 months he's gone back to breastfeeding only. All babies are different so you've just got to go with your intuition really.

Hi Vicki

Well I'm no expert but what I did with my kids was.... I started them on rice porrige only in the mornings to get them used to the taste, then started at 6months with purity in the afternoon either the fruit or the vanilla custards. I kept going with this until about 8months then started to give them purity in the evenings aswell. When I stared with the rice porrige, I would give the porridge in the morning(8:00) the amount the box said then at 10:00 I would give them their milk that was left over from mixing the porridge. The afternoon I did the same giving them purity at 12:00 then at 14:00 when it was nap time I would give them the full amount of milk for their age. And the same at nite after their bath. Hope this helps it worked very well for me.... Kelly
