Baby acne

My son is 2 and a half weeks old and has what looks like acne all around his eyes and on his forehead. Any suggestions to help get rid of it? He's formula fed, has been since he was 3 days old. It doesn't seem to bother him as much as it bothers me and my husband, but it is really red and close to his eye, which worries me. Any help would be appreciated

I am breastfeeding and my daughter who is 5.5 weeks has had her baby acne since she was 3 weeks old. It first started on her forehead and now has worked it's way down to her chin and neck area (which is somewhat of a milk rash as well from nursing). Don't worry, most babies get acne and it will go away eventually, just don't pick at it. Giving my daughter baths frequently seems to help. It's just because their skin cannot produce the correct oils yet so don't worry, just wait it out a couple more weeks :)

Almost every baby gets acne. It happens because of the hormones from you that are still in babies system. The only thing you can really do about it is wash baby's face with the a wash cloth and warm water at bath time. Don't use any soap on it, this will just irrtate it more. You are going to have to get use to it though, it can last a few months. Sorry your little one has it, mine had it really bad for the first 1 1/2 months, but it just fine now. Good luck!
