I went into full blown postpartum depression after my 2nd daughter was born. I had a really bad post delivery and nearly lost my life. I kept having really bad nightmares and so wasn't sleeping real well. I thought I would get over it but about a week into it my daughter was crying (to be fed) and when I picked her up this feeling to shake her just washed over me, so I set her down in the crib and walked outside and called my mom. She came and got her and then I went to my doctor. He prescribed me a depression med and I didnt have my daughter for a week. But the medicine kicked in and the ability to sleep made me a totally different person. I know how you feel and it is a awful feeling. No matter the cause do not downplay how you feel. talk to your mom and see if she'll watch your baby for a day or two so you sleep without worrying if you'll hear the baby cry or not. If that doesnt help call your doctor. No mom should ever feel depressed over a new life but with the hormones changing, and lack of sleep it all adds up and sometimes meds are the best cure. And note I only took mine for two weeks. Then I was back to normal and have had no problems since.

hi

possibly.. it is really really hard becoming a mum! you hear everyone praise and talk about how its the "best job in the world" or how "amazingly happy they are!" and you know what... there are times that it is everything you evey want but... there are alot of times it is so so hard and you are at your wits end with what to do! but no body talks about those times! if you are feelin that your not dealing with it very well(and dont feel like your the only 1. cos you certainly are not!) you need to seek as much help as you can. from both friends, family and professionals... hopefully your feeling will pass soon as it is an amazing thing to be a paerent... but not always eazy : )
