Julia is 9/half months and has a cold.

First it was runny nose and boogers all over the place with sinus congestion. Now she can breath but it seems like it's going south and affecting her chest, she has a caugh and lost her voice.. What do I do?

My doctor said it's normal for kids to have 6-12 colds a year so if you're on your first one you're doing good lol. To help with the congestion you can turn a humidifier on in her room when she sleeps. Keep her hydrated and try to give her some extra vitamin C if you can. My daughter loves mandarine oranges so if you give your daughter table food already you can try those. I know there's all this talk about cold medicine but my doctor said we can give our daughter pure robitusin so she gets that and a cough prescription of albuterol. You can talk to your doctor and see what they suggest.

1st cold i'm so jealous! my little boy has had about 4 weeks in his entire life with out a cold! and he's 7 months! he's had 5 chest infections and he's a breast fed baby which the doctors cant get head around! my suggestions are.... try propping cot up i know its hard but try! there are some Seline drops you can get from chemist u put them in babys nose and they are meant to sneeze out gunk to help. also if cough bad a steamed up room can help. if you are worried go straight to gp! better safe than sorry! oh karvol on flannel in cot is good 1 of vix in hot water in room where baby sleeps and plenty of calpol.

My daughter is 6 months and has had 2 colds and is in the middle of her 3rd,i use snufflebabe on her chest and olbas oil drops or karvol capsuels and put them on a cloth in the radiator in her room, so that the circulate round the whole room this helps her breathe better whilst she is asleep.

if in a week it has not gone just take her to your doctor and get them to check her over just to ease your mind and get some more advice
