Baby's Weight

I have a 4 month old that weighs 10 pounds 9 oz. The Dr is worried. I have to take her back in two weeks and if no weight has been gained he will have to draw blood and do other tests.

I have a happy, healthy baby. She didn't have any symptoms he named off.

So anyone else experience having a small baby that's healthy as well?

what was the baby born at? i have a baby born at 6 pounds 4.5 ounces that is now 20 pounds at 16 months and she only started gaining this amount when put on pediasure. before she turned one she was losing weight or staying the same. the doctors convinced us that something was wrong and did an MRI along with many other tests, blood, urine developmental assessments etc. it was all clear. the nurses told me that doctors worry too much whether babies are too small or too chubby or too long or too short when it doesnt matter. were you or your partner small as babies? if the baby is having wet nappies and is active and happy there shouldnt be a problem.

for weight gain they put my daughter on solids at months and got me to give her rusks with fattening spreads such as peanut butter and cream cheese and butter, and adding calories to her pureed food such as cream cheese and butter. you can try high calorie formula if your formula feeding. if your breast feeding remember breast fed babies are genereally smaller anyway
