My son, Brock started sleeping through the night around a month and a half old... this past month or so he has been teething and waking up at night. It wasn't that big of a deal at first, I would give him some tylenol and teething gel, or hylands teething tablets, and sometimes a bottle. He is 10 1/2 months old, he has 7 teeth (4 up top, and 3 on the bottom) . He has made a habit of waking up 2-3 times a night now. What can I do?

Sometimes I think he is punishing me for being so good and sleeping through the night at such an early age, and then I think maybe he is just waking up hoping that he gets a bottle... who knows...

If he's teething that's probably why he getting up, but if he gets up again even after you've treated him for teething it could be something else. Sometimes babies will wake in the middle of the night when they didn't want to and will cry because they're awake. Sometimes they have nightmares. If you think he's waking up for a bottle and you don't think he needs it, just give him water. If you think he's hungry it's up to you whether or not you want to give him a bottle in bed (you're the mommy so it's your call how you handle things). In my opinion with him almost being 1 I would try to limit how much formula you give him at night because you don't want it sitting on his teeth all night. My advice is to let him fuss a little while (10 mins or so) without checking on him to see if he'll go back to sleep on his own. If he doesn't go in and see if something is wrong. If you don't see that there is anything wrong with him, rub his back some, tell him goodnight, and leave. If he continues you may need to go back in and do the same thing. Try not to take him out of the crib if you can. Obviously if he's carrying on for 45mins or so, you'll want to pick him up and make sure nothing is wrong with him (fever, etc.). Good luck.
