Hi I am 21 years old with two girls and is on my third. I'm 18weeks and five days. I did the blood test for the down syndrome and mine came back positive and I'm scared never had this happen.what should I do? I don't want to loose my baby no matter what.

Just because the initial screen came back positive doesn't mean it's a sure thing. There should be more testing being done, and even that is not a for sure thing, it just means that you're at a higher risk to have a child with DS.

Really, until birth (unless there are obvious physical issues that can be seen with the ultrasound), you won't know for sure. But you can prepare yourself as much as possible. Read up on the condition, all the possible effects. Some Downs children are very close to *normal* with minimal issues, some have more extreme mental and health issues. Unfortunately, you won't know until you give birth, and probably not until much later as to what part of the spectrum (if any) your child falls on, but it's still good to be prepared.
Biggest thing is to relax. Take a few deep breathes. If your child does end up with something wrong, just know that it wasn't anything that you did. And there's really nothing that you can do now except wait and see. I wish you the best of luck with your new little one :)

Just take it one step at a time. It is common to get a false positive with the blood test. You doc. will do some further testing to make sure it is not a false positive. If it does turn up positive your doc will monitor you closely and give you lots of information. Just take it one step at a time. There are lots of downs babies out there. There are also lots of downs adults out there that do well.
