Babysitting

I've found that babysitting other people's children now that I have my own is less enjoyable than it was before I had mine. Anyone else agree? The thing I struggle with most is do you parent the child you are babysitting like you would parent your own child or like their parents do? I treat them as if they were my own in all cases, from what we have for snack to behavioral expectations and punishment.

I agree-I used to teach preschool but once I started having my own kids I began to dread going to work-now I teach college students and it's a welcome break from the kid-centered chaos at my house! As for watching my friends' children, I tend to treat them as I would my own, but I don't babysit any of them regularly--just playdates and such.
