Back is Best

Ok so I know that right now the big thing is to make sure your place your baby on their back when they go to sleep. However my son just seems to wake right up if he sleeps on his back. He is only 2 months old so can't roll over yet in order to choose which position he sleeps in and I have been putting him on his stomach even though doctors say there is an increased risk of SIDS. I was just wondering how many mothers are also putting their babies to sleep on their stomachs and if you told your doctor about it what they said.

Our daughter had reflux and we were told by our doctor to place her on her side to sleep, I think he said left side, but i spose if reflux isn't a problem them it wouldn't matter which side you put him on. You can buy sleep positioners to place at the baby's hips to stop them from rolling over and suffocating, or you can use rolled up towels or blankies.

honestly my first son loved to sleep on his stomach so i let him, but this time jaden slept on his back, he rolled to his front at 17 weeks so now he sleeps on his front, if your comfortable with it, do it. it's all about mothers instinct xxx

I have put all my kids on their tummy for naps and they sleep on their back in my bed at night. Dr. is okay with it.
