My daughter is 6 months old and is not baptized yet. The reason is because we have had such a busy summer and never have a free weekend. The godmother to her lives about 3 hours away and it is hard for her to get up here sometimes. (she is her aunt) I was just wondering what is the best age or how long can i wait to baptize her??

Age is not importand. But you have to decide why you baptize your child. Baptism is a promise between the parents and God. It is nice to have the family there, but what is more importand?? My kids were baptized at 3 weeks and the family were all there.

We waited until my little ones first birthday and made it a joint celebration so that family and friends from afar could make the journey up to join us. Was really wonderful :)

You can wait til when your ready. My kids were 2 and 3 mainly because of Ieaq deployments and Border Mission deployments. And I think its more important to have the people there that matter then to rush into it just because.

here in France you can take your time, my sister in law was 18 months when she was babtised. We are planning on babtising our son between the age of 1 year and 18 months

I thought the same thing and friends and family have said your supposed to baptize before they turn 1 years old, but i dont think it really matters. at least you have a godmother, we are still struggling to find godparents!
