Hello, I am a SAHM of 2 girls. I have been unemployed for almost a year and so has my husband. We are struggling to make ends meet while my husband attends school. For fun and in hopes of making some extra cash, I decided to put my talents to use and started EK Handmade Creations. I make headbands for baby girls all the way to tweens. Each one is unique and special and you can have them custom made to match an outfit your daughter already owns! You will not find these anywhere else. Please check out my website at http://sites.google.com/site/ekhandmadec... and place an order today! If this is something you are not interested in, but you know someone who might be, please help me expand my business by referring friends. Custom headband requests can be e-mailed to samantha_k_brent@yahoo.com. Thank you!

Quoting Sam:

Thank you so much! I literally couldn't sleep one night and I was stressing out about our family's situation. I started praying and asking myself what could I do to contribute and the idea donned on me that I see a lot of people who have girls with headbands on. Most of the time I see the simple kind that you can buy at Target with lace an a little bow and those are adorable, but I thought what if I could make them myself. I thought also that a lot of moms buy them to match their baby's outfit, so why not customize them? I went out a few days later and bought a pack of simple headbands and a few spools of ribbon and started sewing things together. I also found out that I can sew on fabric flowers and other cute items and just started creating. So far business is going but it is slow to start. I have been trying to find free ways to advertise and since I'm already a part of a lot of the Facebook communities, I figured I would post on there. Hopefully it generates some attention to my site and orders start coming in! My best advice to you is to think about something you use every day or something that you are always looking for and then think of how you could improve, change, or add to it to make it something better or new. For instance, I know another girl who is making pacifier holders, I know someone who makes hats for boys. Blankets, clothes, and other day-to-day items are a good start. If you do get an idea, test it out first and then see what the competition is. I noticed that a lot of the big flower headbands were out there and it is a very popular look but you cannot buy them for less than $5 a piece so I knew I had to price mine lower if I wanted to get people to buy them. Anyway thanks for checking me out and good luck!!

Thank you...it looks like I have a lot of work to do...lol!
