Best toy for a 9 month old?

I have 9 month old that loves all types of toys....especially ones that make sounds. I just can't seem to find one that she will play with consistently. I encourage her to explore the house, but sometimes I would love for her to sit and play. Any ideas for a great toy??

yumm there are two toys I love to get mine moving. There's a Bright Beginnings toy called Around we go. Though a lot of peditricians do not reccomend walkers in the sense what we grew up with because it doesn't teach the child to balance. THere are walker types that will do so to make them moving just gotta locate them. The around we go is a 2-1 toy I guess. It has a table in the middle with different activites and a seat that will go in a circle around the table. Also...
I LOVE LOVE the Fisher Price GO! Baby GO! Safari Musical thing. IT's a half moon shape toy. It has different activites, makes noise, but the higher toys on it need to be activated by playing with it up there. It's for sitters, crawlers and walkers. So that might help. The toy is around $60 but it's for a good number of months. :D

i dont know where in the world you are, but in the UK you can buy a v-tech walker - zimmerframe style. it has a toy that will come off to sit and play with, but encourages standing and walking. 9m+ but my little'un ended up having it at 7 months coz she could stand and was trying to walk against the furniture, but nothing really to hold on to! mand x

Mine was obsessed with stacking things. So we got him one of the toys that has rings you stack on a pole, and one of the toys where you drop balls in certain holes and they come out other holes.. they both make noise. He liked them a lot of a couple months, although now he just likes to throw them out the window. Oh, and this inflatable penguin you push and punch and he says WEEEE and plays music lol. He was afraid of the penguin at first... until he outgrew it. now that he's larger than the penguin he loves it. I think the penguin was fisher price.

I bought my daughter two fisher price toys when she was close to that age. The one is called "fun with friends musical table" and the other is called "song and story learning chair". The one has a piano, book, phone, and an alphabet lap top. It sings and talks. The other one has a book and it reads it to them. It also sings and lights up. She absolutely loved them. She still plays with the learning chair and she is 17months. They both teach colors and the alphabet as well. I think they were very much worth purchasing. Hope this helps. If U visit the fisher price website the toys are listed under the laugh & learn section.

my second son is 8 months old now, and i can truly relate. it feels as if a whole toy store still would't satisfy his curiosity! i keep him close to me, whatever im busy with, that way he feels part of the action. let her see, touch and explore appropriate items that you are using, i regularly pass a dishcloth, wooden spoon, clothing pegs, tupperware etc. on to my son, that way you don't have toys all over the house, and he gets to explore in a safe manner, because you can control what she gets while keeping a constant eye. also, remember that at that age, everything that is not in her hands seem more interesting than what she currently has. its a good sign if she becomes bored with one toy, she's inquisitive!
