my first son i measured 42 week when i was 35 weeks my son was born at 35 weeks weighting 7lbs-4oz and my second son i measured 38 weeks when I was 18 days over he as 9lbs 3oz
babys sit differently everytime you are pregnant. Some will hide off to the sides or even in the back, but dont worry big babys are just a little healthyer !!

my son was 9 pound 5 ounces and a week early.
I personally think that bigger babies are easier to birth, everyone I've talked to says so, and I personally didn't have any stitches either.
My doctor said its because they have some weight behind them to help you when you push.

When I was pregnant with both my girls the doctor said I was measuring right on target, my first was 9lbs 13 oz and my second was 10lbs 8 oz so I'm not sure how accurate those measurements can be, maybe not in every case.

How big were your other 2 babies and how many weeks were they born at? This is your third pregnancy so the muscles aren't as strong as they used to be. Have you put on more weight this pregnancy? You are roughly 37 weeks and measuring 2 cm bigger, at work that is acceptable (I am a midwife and I work in the Antenatal Clinic) We say that 2cm either side of how many weeks is acceptable. Also how tall are you? If you are taller then you will measure bigger. Also if there is more fluid around the baby then you will measure bigger. Also if different people are measuring you it is not as accurate as if one person measures you. Have you consistently measured bigger than the number of weeks pregnant? There are so many variables - if I was you I would not worry about it too much. The position of the baby can make a difference as well. If the back of the baby is facing the front then you will measure bigger than if the back is facing your back. Hope this helps.

I dont know how to explain that..lol My oldest was 10.5 and I measured normal..My middle was 11.4 and the doctor did a sonogram and said maybe 8lbs..and my youngest they took 2wks early and i was tiny..and did a sonogram while i was in labor that guy said 7lbs and she was 9.2..Big babies are good..lol I had them all naturally with epidural and my body returned to normal..sort of lol CONGRATS!!!

My boy was 9lb 13oz and I had a natural birth with no drugs. Just a water birth. You'll be fine. Good luck xx

when the nurses guessed my baby's weight, they were spot on give or take a few ounces!! Depends on how long they have been doing it. One nurse was spot on exactly. Having a big baby is not a big deal, getting the head out is the hard part!! my first was only 7, 11...so I was thinking this will be easy, next baby was 9, 14...so now I think my thrid, DUE in october...will be huge too, not too worried, been there done that...just relax girl and all will be fine! nothing wrong with a little anxiety, and a nice Epidural!! LOL!!

i swore he was a big bub, feeling around he felt big ish, i sulked like crazy lol i wasnt sure i could do it and started freaking, (especially since it took 18.5 hours to have my daughter) he was born in 3.5 hours but when they broke my waters they changed the sheets 3 times cos of all the fluid.. i wish you luck i know how nerve racking it is when the 'experts' give a guess on the weight

Im 38 weeks, measuring 40 weeks and they say im due to have a 10 lb baby. But my ob has told me that with each child you can measure a little over. I wouldnt worry about it, especially if your midwife isnt.

The same thing happened with all 4 of mine, and a friend of mine who just had her baby.

My boys were over 9 pounds but my girls were 8 and 7 pounds, and my friends baby was 7 pounds.

It's just a guess really, sometimes they're right, sometimes they're wrong.

How big were your first 2? Boys are usually bigger than girls too.

You'll be fine either way, just try not to worry about it!

its ok to have a big baby!! I had a 9 pound 14 ounces baby!!! and he was only one day early!! I think that even though you measure at 39 weeks the baby will not grow much more from now until born...I think you can expect a possible early birth, like a week or 2 early!! OTher than that, the measurement usually means that the baby is ahead of schedule development wise and that you were most likely given the wrong due date...not to worry...I predict it means an early birth than expected due date.
