Our daughter is due in a little over a month & I'm going to be breast feeding ... I'm also allergic to latex!

I know there is non-latex condoms & diaphrams ... but I was hoping there was some other alternatives & I know that being on an estrogen regimented birth control isnt highly advised while breast feeding. I've heard IUD's are decent but can cause cysts ... and we want to wait atleast a year or two before we plan to have another child.

Any mommies out there with some advice?

the mirena iud is wonderful! ive had it for about a year and its worry free and makes your period lighter and shorter. check into it with your doctor. they say its as effective as getting your tubes tied.

After I had my daughter I was breast feeding so my doctor put me on the mini pill which is safe to use while breast feeding. They say it is not quite as effective as the regular pill but I had no problems on it.

There are pill birth controls for nursing moms and everyone I know who's used them say they're just fine. Ask your doctor about your options.

I have the IUD for about 11/2 years now and I love it. I've been on all the other birth controls and I highly recommond it. Hope this helps.
