my oldest son is 4.5 he just started preschool and is doing very well. He's never really bitten before but now sometimes he gets so mad at his 3 year old brother and he bites him. i've tried getting him to talk it out but he still feels the need to bite his brother. i don't know what else to do and i'm afraid he'll start biting other kids. any ideas?

I work in a day care and I have heard from many moms and several people in my family. You might think this is mean but it does help. When they bite you bite them back. It does sound harsh but I do know that my little cousin never bit again.

Another thing is if he bites tell him not to bite show him the bite mark on the younger brother tell him that it hurts him and then give positive attention to the little one.
