Quoting Jenny:

yeah i'm pretty sure he's teething...i forget about the different ways they explore. Thanks!!

Well there you go :) That's why he wants to bite everything :) Maybe try getting some teething rings for him to bite/chew. Something that also works wonders is frozen fruit, it was my son's favorite thing! Well next to my finger LOL :)

yes you can discipline and teach babies that young my daughter is 14 months old and is very smart. talk to your child.Trust me they can understand what you have to say much more than you can understand what they are saying. Whenever you child bites, walk up to him, touch his mouth and say no biting. OUCH.. then show him how to give kisses and teach him to give kisses instead. My daughter loves to give kisses. Your son may also be teeting.. keep like 2-4 teething rings frozen in the freezer. My daughter is 14 months and still when i give her a teething ring she goes to town on it. If you talk to your child then they will understand more. I hardly ever yell at my daughter, i dont like her to see that it is okay to get angry and yell. I talk to her and explain that stairs or an oven is a HOT, its and OUch. I touch it and cry.. babies dont like to see there parents get hurt my daughter cries whenever she sees her daddy play wrestle with friends.. if you just talk and explain things it will instill that method of dealing with anger in your child. Most people dont realize just how much little children pay attention to there parents. Babies Are so smart and curious. hope this helps

I'm not sure that at 11 months old your baby will be able to understand that bitting is wrong. Although it would not hurt to tell him that it hurts or that it's not nice to bite. Have you thought about the fact that he may be teething? Also bitting and putting things in their mouths are their ways of exploring the world. Is he actually bitting or is he chewing? Our 11 month old son is doing the same thing but I'm certain that he is not doing it with the intentions of huring us. I thinks it's more like teething and exploring.
