I know bottles are unhealthy for the teeth, I think 9 months is rather early how did that mom get their infant to drink the required amount of formula? Wow! I think nipple sippie cups are nothing but a glorified bottle. My son is 2. He hasnt used a bottle at daycare in a year. Thus meaning he is just playing me. Ive been putting only water in the bottle. I put milk or juice in a cup. I offer both. It takes up more time and effort to have to dirty more dishes. Patience can be worn. But try try try. Kids know how to play parents! :)

my daughter in I year and 6 months i just took her off her bottle last friday and she wont drink milk out of her cup either... you just gotta take it away and explain to him that he is a big boy now and doesnt need it.. yea he might cry for it but just dont give it to him. give him his cup with some juice.

We did about the same thing as the previous poster, but we took the bottle completely away from our boys. And they started to drink out of a sippy cup right away, since they didn't have then bottle. I think that every kid doesn't like to give up the bottle and switch to a cup, it's not what they are use to, it just takes some time and they will

I got my son off the bottle at 9 months. What I did was at 6 months I started sippy cups with his lunch just to get him used to them. Then gradually I increased them. He didn't like them either, but I was determined. And by 9 months I didn't offer him a bottle anymore. I first bought the nuby sippy cups the ones that have a larger "nipple" right on top. They helped with the transition because it was longer than most. Then when he got comfortable with that I changed cups. He's now 18 months old drinking out of a 2 year plus sippy cup and learning to drink from a regular cup. I know he won't like it because it's out of his comfort zone but you have to stand firm. Hope this helps!
