My partner and I are breaking up and we have a three year old daughter. I want things to go as smoothly as possible on her. Her father is a little dramatic and emotional. I can't controll him so I am just going to do the best that I can for her.

My father's son and I broke up a little before my son's 2nd birthday. It was hard at first because we didn't get along. (he's also dramatic) But after a while he finally calmed down. We would go to the park together and go out to eat so that our son could see us together. He loved seeing us both together. If that's at all possible in the future to do you should really do it.

Splitting up can be very difficult if your child is close with her dad. I tried leaving my kids father and they went through a really tough time with it. My situation was a little different though because he went from being a stay at home dad to a no longer living with us dad, which they took hard. Just give your daughter lots and lots of attention and support, hopefully he will try to do the same. Good luck.

It is not easy. Just be there for your daughter and give her extra love and attention.
