Hello All

I really want to breast feed my baby, but the Medela Pumps are so much more $. Are they really worth it? Let me know what you have experienced.

Thanks

I have had the Ameda breast pump and now have lansinoh. I work full time so most of my week I am pumping. I really like both the Ameda and Lansinoh pumps which are both around $200. They seem to be exactly the same just made by different people. I have not had any experience with Medela but I think that either the Ameda or Lansinoh pumps work great and I have had no problems with them.

Thanks for the advice. We do plan on having more than one baby. I have heard great things about the Pump In Style...I am thinking that's the one! Now I am going to try and get medical to reimburse me for it.

I have the Medela Pump In Style Advanced (double, was $319.99 at the time). I LOVE IT! I have several friends who have it, and don't. The ones who have one love it also and the ones who don't have kicked themselves. I would recommend it, ESPECIALLY if you plan on more than one child. My daughter is 26 months and my son is almost 4 months and it has NEVER given me any problems. Used it for both and it's still going strong. Glad we spent the money!

hi there, i have a medella breast pump. and let me just tell you its a lot of work..i use the swing and its great but it takes a long time to get my milk, cause i have to pump both breasts and each breast is 20minutes. id say pay the extra money and get the double if your thinking about it dont go with the manual or single..they take too long and you get tired easily. im pumping and giving formula right now..im doing a little bit of both because i find i dont have enough time in the day to pump. hope that helps. oh and it doesnt hurt when i pump either. its comfortable.
